EPISODE SYNOPSIS
Jack tells Liz and Pete they need to "re-connect with middle America" and look for a new cast member. To keep the news from the cast they sneak around to see comedy acts, piquing the suspicion of the writing staff. The staff suspects they are sleeping together and they confirm this just as Pete's wife walks in. Suprisingly, Pete's wife welcomes Liz to their bedroom, to both of their surprise. When the truth comes out Josh quits the show.

Tracy tries to re-connect with his roots by talking to people on the street. They all think he's crazy and ignore him. Jenna "goes country" to appeal to middle America and shoots a promo song for tennis, the only sport that NBC has left in their line-up.

Jack and Kenneth get into an argument after Kenneth accidentally gets Jack's bonus check. Jack has told the pages that they can't work overtime because of budget cuts while Jack is getting a huge bonus. Kenneth convinces all the pages to picket outside. Jack hires Lenny Wosniak (Steve Buscemi), a private eye to infiltrate the protest but he's unsuccessful with breaking it up.Their protest is joined by a local union that includes mall Santas, bucket drummers and horse whisperers. Tracy and Jenna soon join the protest as well when they find out about the new actors.

Jack admits that he lied to Kenneth, so Kenneth calls off the protest and has to lie to the crowd about why he started the protest, thus proving Jack's point that sometimes you have to lie to get what you want.
